Information When You Need It— Alzcast.org

Alzcast.org aims to increase knowledge about Alzheimer's disease to effectively enhance the quality of care through improved information and training.

Alzheimer's disease (which accounts for approximately 60% of dementia) affects 4.5 million Americans and is growing in number as the disease is projected to impact over 16 million Americans by year 2050. Alzcast.org, in partnership with The Copper Ridge Institute (TCRI), a not-for-profit organization affiliated with The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, conducts research on 'care' issues and the development of educational programs to train family and health care professionals on 'best practices' in dealing with individuals with Alzheimer's disease.

Alzcast.org provides information in a unique and powerful manner, featuring:

  • Bi-weekly audio conferences available for streaming and downloads/Podcasts.
  • An Alzheimer's 'clearing house' for obtaining a wide variety of Alzheimer's-related educational materials.
  • Search technology, enabling rapid retrieval of materials based on an individual's interest and background.
  • Programs for three different audiences: physicians/nurses, caregivers and other healthcare professionals.
